CURRICULUM VITAE
I am a UX designer and a motion graphics designer. I currently work as a senior design consultant at Siili Solutions Oy in Tampere.
The three things that interest me the most professionally are user experience and user interface design and motion graphics. I love the challenge of visual storytelling in animation and motion graphics, the creative problem solving and user centric thinking required in user experience design and the way user interface design brings these two challenges together.
Although I am a visual person, I am also keen in deepening my understanding of front end coding. I can handle myself in HTML and CSS, and (with a little help from Google) am able to add interactivity with Javascript. In fact the site you're on, right now, is designed and hand coded by yours truly. I believe that understanding the possibilities and limitations of coding is a tremendous help in the design process and in communicating with developers.
As a person I am curious and strive to absorb knowledge and to improve myself. I spend a lot of time learning new skills and reading blog posts or articles linked to professional interests. I can admit that I am addicted to learning. I see problems and obstacles as challenges and learning opportunities.
I know that this is a clichée that nowadays every CV needs to have, but in this particular case it just happens to be 100% true: I am a social guy and have a tendency to get along with people. My father is a diplomat so I’ve lived abroad for a big part of my childhood and was schooled in French schools, which meant that my friends were (literally) from all over the World. I also worked for four years as a bouncer in Helsinki, a job that, at heart, requires excellent people skills. This has all lead to having flexible, multicultural social skills combined with the ability to adapt to quickly changing situations and getting along with people who are generally considered impossible to get along with.

Work History
Siili Solutions • August 2019 - present
Title: Senior UX/UI Designer
What I have done: product design, web design, user research, workshopping, Scrum mastering, illustration, motion graphics, heuristic evaluation...
I started as a Junior UX/UI Designer and worked my way up to Senior UX/UI designer. I've worked on multiple projects for many customers.
As a (often sole) designer
project responsibilites go beyond "just design work", as I'm
usually the link between the customer, users and the dev team.
Being a design multitalent and a people person help me to
fulfill very varied roles when needed.

Sofigate Oy • May 2019 - July 2019
Title: UX/UI Designer
What I did: UX and UI design for the Service Now portal team as well as building portals and javascript widgets for Service Now.
I was hired as a UX/UI designer for the Service Now portal
team. My job was to plan and create portals for customers. It
turned out that a big part of the work was implementing design
and making widgets with Javascript. As I do not consider
myself a developer, and wanted to concentrate on design, I
left when I received a job opportunity at Siili Solutions.
Kuubi Oy • October 2015 - May 2019
Title: Graphic designer and animator
What I did: banner coding, banner design, web-design, animation, video editing, photography, 3D modeling… Basically anything from animation to banner coding and even print design.
I came in as a trainee, was hired full time to become a junior
graphic designer and later a graphic designer and an animator.
From very early stages I was involved with myriad roles and
tasks, and with trust came more responsibility. Kuubi is
mainly a production company, but the work always involves
different levels of design and creative problem solving. I
learned to work fast but thoroughly, and sometimes under a lot
of pressure. Timetables are oftentimes hectic in the marketing
world and this requires cool headedness and a good ability to
plan in addition to a creative mind set.

Taivas • May - July 2014
Title: Trainee
What I did: General ad agency trainee jobs, but also flash banners, print design, video editing and even some 3D modeling.
This was my first internship and it involved general ad agency
trainee odd jobs. The work that I was tasked with was varied
and I also even got the chance to be the first 3D modeler of
Taivas. I decided to go finish my school instead of staying
after my traineeship was over, but being there was overall a
nice experience.
